I've had this subwoofer for about 10 years now and it's still going strong. I am still impressed by the low frequency it is able to produce. It is not the loudest subwoofer you can get, but what it lacks in SPL it makes up for in low deep bass. It is excellent for movies a little muddy for music.
For my small living room this adds just enough sound without overpowering. For the price point its a great purchase. I have always had good luck with the Yamaha brand. No issues so far.

I've had many sub woofers but this is not only powerful it also provides true quality bass to music and movies. I use an Harmon pardon av635 with Polk audio speakers and this subwoofer is a great complement. It certain enhances your listening experience.. You will not be disappointed!!
If I didn't know any better I'd say that Yamaha invented Home entertainment systems. I mea have you heard a yamaha system before, it literally takes your breathe away

I have tested out my copy of Mask Of Zorro and Lord Of The Rings The Two Towers. I love the music in both movies, and especially when Banderas and Zeta Jones dance, its so much fun, the YST-SW315 added new life to this scene where I felt and heard rich stong bass, but never went for the volume or...

I was hesitant at first to buy subwoofers with auto on/off feature because my old JBL subwoofer does have a humming, annoying sound when left powered on. During the day it's hardly noticeable but at night it can be audible and I had to power it down from the switch that is at the back.
This is one of the best subwoofers I have heard in a Home Theater Setup. You can feel every moment of the movie when you have this baby turned on.

The standby feature is of poor design. I put the radio on and went to full max and it was still sleeping. But then I'm watching Jumanji and 5 mins in the sub comes on. Overall I'm returning it and may never by Yamaha again just to avoid there customer support line
For tight bass to enhance your music or movies, you can't go wrong with the Yamaha YST-SW315. It's subtle and full-bodied, yet is powerful enough to shake your kidneys loose!

I Honestly Can't Think Of Even One.
If you do not have larger side and center speakers. This thing will out do them. So, would not skimp on speakers if you are getting this monster. Go with something smaller.

Powerful, Down blast speaker puts the vibration right into the floor. Can blow the sound right through out the house. Doors are no object with this speaker. Has front volume control so you can dial it down so not to offend neighbors after 12 midnight.
