My band used it and only it for the bass for all of our gigs. I was very happy with the output of "Big Bertha". She never failed us. Used in small clubs and every once in a while, an outdoor small restaurant. Had to put wheels on her. That was my only complaint.
I have a 3-piece blues rock band that plays clubs, outdoor events and the like to crowds of up to 350. Before buying the SW118V woofer, we played these gigs with a Yamaha EMX512SC powered mixer plus 2 Yamaha 15 cabs on sticks. Adding the SW118V has improved our sound immeasurably.
I bought a pair of S215v's in 2000. I have used them literally hundreds of times. They are rugged, wear well, 1,000 watt peak power handles all occasions. The only drawback is the weight at around 110 lbs. Solid. Clear.
Excellent build. Not too heavy. Nice smooth, full sound. I am using QSC GX5s to drive them. Good value.
Nice but just too big and couldn't find the cords to hook it up
The Yamaha SW118V is a 18 inch Passive Subwoofer, and a lot of the time when I am doing a smaller show as a DJ I will just take this. This was my “Go To” sub for smaller birthday parties and banquets manly because it was very light and easy to take with me.
Bjr. I use SW 115 IV satellite and SW 118 IV sub, while the bi-amplification with 2 Yamaha P4500 amp and crossover DBX
