I have been using these speakers along with the 18" sub-woofers for many years now never having any problems and I have driven them very hard at times. Just amazed at how well they have held up. I have been considering going to powered speakers but question weight handling issues.
Been using these speakers for over 10 years, have at times looked at other brands, but always come back to the Yamaha S115V, for the price don't think there is a speaker with a better sound. They are 60 lbs so don't get this if you have a bad back.
Great speakers with an excellent sound quality. Couldn't be any more pleased.
This has been a great purchase and a very needed replacement of old PA speakers. They have a rich response which is what we needed. High and lows are full and mid-range is balanced. They are a little heavy but that is to be expected.
These speakers do not respond flat, by any means, but EQ'd properly they are not horrible. It's difficult to find an appropriate crossover when paired with a subwoofer. Yamaha claims the response of the tweeters tops off at 16kHz; I find that extremely generous.
I use a Yamaha EMX512SC Powered Mixer Amp. total of 1000 Watts. And I can tell you that these are the best set of Speakers I Ever had on my Amp. My Brother was over today when I playing them he look at me and said you don't need them other 4 Speakers hell those sound better then all of the other's...
These sounds real good and very clear I have always liked it loud and these are loud and clear at the same time, there is one thing I will tell you is that you will not sit in front of these very long because they are real loud, I finally found a system that works the way I like it.
Let me first say I purchased these for a relative. Well once these arrived this person was, well lets just say confined. So I thought what the heck, might as well see how they sound. Now I am no dj or band member. So this was going to be tested on my home stereo.
I've owned these speakers for years and I've bought so much equipment over the past 8 years until I honestly don't remember if I bought them here or not. But anyway, After surfing this sight for mic stands I saw these bad boys and was reminded of a show that I did this past weekend.
