Great receiver with quality build and fantastic features. I highly recommend. I own the RXV781BL at home and have the RX681BL at my office. They are absolutely perfect for my needs. I also really like Yamaha's Network Controller app for this receiver.
What a great receiver. The options are just right to make this a solid addition to my A/V system. I hooked this up to my old Sony receiver and used the Sony for Zone 2. Took awhile to figure out the settings to accomplish this and that is why I can't give it 5 stars. Documentation could be better.
Better connection choices than the replacement model, so uf you need anthing other than HDMI y ou had better get one of these before they are gone.
This is the same receiver as the TSR-7810. I upgraded from an older Yamaha RX-V750 and noticed right away after doing a multi-point sound measurement with the YPAO Microphone everything appeared brighter and more vivid.
Love the network acssesablity but is on occasionaly difficult to connect with some types of applications
I currently own Onkyo TX-NR636 and really like the sound but it does not pass through HDR so I'm looking for an upgrade that does. I tried the Yamaha TSR-7810 (same as RX-V781BL), sound was decent, not as good as Onkyo TX-NR636, but it only passed through HDR at 30 fps not the advertised 60 fps and...
Nice update on my 9 yr old Yamaha amp, at half the price.
My other Yamaha receivers are RX-V2600, RX-V3900 and now the RX-V781. It is not as powerful as the 3900, but you would never know unless you had the speakers and 3900 to compare. It is a great unit. 4k video passes through perfect to my Samsung KS8000 from Nvidia Shield TV 2017 and Roku Ultra.
Have been really enjoying this receiver since it arrived, it has added great sound and video selection versatility to our home theatre.
