We need to slowly close our review and looking at the RX-V385 overall it becomes pretty obvious what Yamaha intended to do with this unit. Offer the best audio performance and the best build quality at the lowest price possible and fit in whatever other features without running the risk of...

Very good audio performance, Great build quality, Virtual and up-mixing tech available, Binding posts for speaker connections

No Dolby Atmos or DTS:X, A bit weak at 70 watts of power, Features are a bit thin compared to competition, No WiFi
Wanted a cheap receiver to use as a 2 channel set up in the bedroom with some bookshelves rather than getting a soundbar. It has enough features to make me and the Mrs happy at a totally fair price (especially when on sale).

ARC works seamlessly. Even more consistently than my way WAY more expensive Aventage receiver in the living roomI drive some not very sensitive Polk R100's with this and it does the job admirably.

I connected my phone via Bluetooth, and if you're like us and watch tv with the "sleep timer" on, what it was doing was when the TV shut off, the receiver would switch to Bluetooth and stay on.
The Yamaha Black 5.1 Channel AV Receiver - RX-V385BL is a good quality receiver and puts out a very nice sound. There are multiple venue choices for you to choose from for your listening enjoyment. Very clear sound and you can hear each instrument being played on our jazz station.
Was looking for a AV receiver that had bluetooth capability and works with Alexa, and this one fit the bill for a reasonable price. Access to the HDMI input is near the top of the receiver for easy access and the auto sound adjustment capability is nice for speedy speaker adjustment.
Easy to set up and use. Works great for the price. I set up in just a couple minutes

easy set up
Good basic receiver. Totally meets our needs. Technical help setting it up 3 states away was invaluable. Great team.
I purchased my receiver about two weeks ago. The set up was easier than I thought. I have surround sound speakers in my ceilings so I only used the surround wire connectors. Since my tv was already mounted, I didn’t want to have the HDMI cord showing so I connected the receiver to my Dish Hopper via...
I am moving over from a ten year old Sony receiver that had conked out on me. I never was too happy with it and the DD separation never seemed that good to me. I bought this Yamaha as a cheap receiver to get me by until there are more HDMI 2.1 receivers on the market to match up with my XBOX Series...

Crisp sound from the center channel. Thumps my big powered sub just fine and had great Dolby separation. Easy to set up and operate too.

No HDMI 2.1 but then that is a very new feature just now starting to show up in receivers.
Still getting used to it, but need to purchase a center channel speaker for use with the TV and for movies. I had a Yamaha analog receiver previously, but this digital version really makes my Bose 301's sound great.
Replaced a couple of years old Onkyo 5.1-channel AV receiver with this Yamaha due to a dynamite noise it created time to time scared the cxxp out of everyone last few months. This Yamaha receiver is quiet and comes with an electronic ear (i.e.
