The My Passport SSD is an excellent portable drive for those needing to securely carry data on the go.
The My Passport SSD is rugged, light and super compact. The drive uses USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C to deliver fast performance. It works with both Windows and MacOS right out of the box and features strong encryption to protect data in case of loss or theft.
The drive's capacity caps at just 1TB. It's a fingerprint magnet.
Simple to use. Fast 238 GB of storage. Plug in and get busy. Western Digital software included to perform backups. Western Digital Discovery software makes using the drive simple. Formatted as exFAT should be comparable with current systems. Small form factor makes taking drive with you easy.
This is a very handy, small, fast external disk drive. I didn't try the automatic backup software, but so far the disk drive itself has functioned perfectly.
Excellent drive. Use this to edit 4K videos on the fly. This drive helps me keep my laptop space free.
On the plus side, this IS a small external drive, supplied with enough leads/adaptors to link to your system. But I found it too flimsy, flopping about at the end of the cabling like a beached . . . . er . . . . Minnow. My pc only recognised it as “read only” and none of my macs would recognise it.
Really small, high-capacity SSD unit with fast data transfer speed. Stability of data saved will need to prove itself. Unit itself feels solid. USB port adapter is a very useful addition, as it can then also be used on other USB 3.0 cables.
Pros: 1) It’s very nice and compact. 2) Very fast read/write performance; see the greatest speed increase when you connect directly from USB-C to USB-C. I connected to a new MacBook Pro with USB-C and it floored me how fast it was.
Great, high capacity fast drive for on the go. It has already replaced some older drives I have because I’d rather use an SSD. Haven’t found any downsides yet.
This SSD works great as external storage for the PS4. Setup was quick and easy — I just plugged it into one of the USB ports and formatted it right from the PS4 settings menu. I’ve had no issues with it so far, and load times seem to be quite a bit faster than games installed on the PS4’s internal...
I need to warn you to set up this drive up in the correct manner. Ok....... After plugging it in to your computer format it straight away ensuring it's set to NTFS. Next... Right click it's properties and untick indexing. It's ready to use. No problems. Perfect Ok the hard way....
Spent over 350 bucks on something that doesn't work. I have a mac, followed the instructions to make it compatible and it won't work. I tried several times for the last three months. Of course its too late to return now.
