The Western Digital Red Pro WD6001FFWX 6TB is, by far, the most power hungry NAS drive we have ever tested here at APH Networks. If you have read my Black WD6001FZWX 6TB review last month, this should come at no surprise to you. But does it really matter?
I barely used 1 TB of the 6 TB space, but it still failed. I may have just go the two lemons in the batches, but I cannot keep running in circles trying to get a drive to work. I need this drive up and running now. I really like WDC Hard Drives, but I will be going with Seagate or HGST next.

I purchased the drive in early Feb of 2016. It worked fine for a while.

In late July or Early August, the drive started failing to transfer data. I scanned it & it stated that there were too many bad sectors on the drive. I had WDC send me a new one before I returned the defective one.
