This drive is used to backup thousands of photographs. Because many are in camera raw format, the files are very large. The external drive is quick to download and recall images.
So easy to set up.This is formatted for IMAC so no extra work to set up.Huge storage so one will be enough.Small, unobtrusive,sits behind the screen.Effortless as it should be.I used a USB to connect.Will buy another one when this is full,if ever.
Works great with my Mac even though I don't have the 3.0 USB port. Transfers data a little slow with the older USB port but nothing I can't live with on this older machine. Was already preformatted so I literally took it out of the box, connected the USB cable, plugged it in and started using it.
I didn't expect anything less than perfection from this drive, and it has achieved my expectations. I use it on my 2015 iMac for Time Machine, and it is exactly double the storage of my internal drive, so it works well for that purpose.
So, I have a MAC book pro and about 500gb on internal flash. Bought this for time machine backups. Showed up yesterday and looked fine but defaulted to USB 2.0 speed, 36 hours to complete a backup. I tried a bunch of things, reformatted partitioned updated firmware followed the fan to format.
