Western Digital is taking the NAS storage market very seriously. Not only did they release a 6TB Red yesterday, but also the Red Pro 4TB HDD.
In 25 years of computing, I have never had a problem with a WD drive. Perhaps others have, but their track record is good with me after installing dozens if not hundreds over the years.

- While it's not on the compatible hardware list, these drives work well with the Netgear RN314 NAS system. - Really fast!

None so far
I suppose as a NAS drive it's fine but don't put this in your desktop PC. Aside from being extremely noisy it seems to suck up bus cycles. Every time I tried accessing the disk my desktop would start to get jittery. I ended up replacing this with a Seagate drive and I'm much happier.

Price is good, seems reliable.

Rather slow, VERY noisy.
If you're thinking of getting NAS such as a Sinology system, I recommend these Western Digital Red Pro 3TB disks. They work very well.

Disks were easy to install in Synology 214+ chassis.. both were packed well, and work perfectly. Very quiet drive operation.
