Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f/1.4 is one of three 35mm primes that Cosina, owner of the Voigtlander brand, is currently manufacturing for the M mount cameras. Technically speaking, Cosina discontinued its ASPH Nokton 35/1.2 recently, and announced it will be replaced by a redesigned version (with...
As its name suggests, the very compact, lightweight manual focus Voigtlander Nokton Classic 35mm F1.4 lens takes a classic design and makes it available for the very latest Sony full-frame cameras, but while it delivers on the handling and build quality fronts, the image quality sadly falls a little...
If you're expecting a tack sharp modern lens at f/1.4, this lens is not for you. However, if you like a more classic rendering, while still getting images that have solid levels of detail, you may very well be interested.
I purchased this lens with the Voigtlander Close-focus adapter for my Sony a7III and am super pleased with the results. Sharp, good color rendition and pleasant bokeh. This is a classy piece of glass. Love it!
For me, I will give a 5 Starts for this lens. It's not sharp when full open, and even not sharp in edge when adapting on a digital camera. But it's compact and well build, and it also provide excellent pictures. Check it if you need a compact 35/1.4.
I use the Voigtlander 35mm f/1.4 Nokton Classic MC on my Fuji X-E1 and my Leica M4-2. It works perfectly on both (with an M-mount adapter for the Fuji). It's sharp in the center at f/2.8, and from f/4 to f/16 it is quite sharp perfectly usable as a general-purpose lens.
Great lens for the money have it on my Fuji x pro 1 and gives photos a film like look very nice
