Voigtlander Nokton 40mm f/1.4 Lens (Single Coated)

Great lens for daily use. Its built well, produces great images, and is compact.It should be obvious, but this lens will produce a more classic look, meaning soft in some areas, a little glowy looking, with busier bokeh, but thats what I love so much about it.

So far, this lens has been an excellent performer. I am new to rangefinders, and notice a pretty drastic difference from an old Nikkor 50mm-1.4 lens I had been shooting with on my SLR. I love the overall look of this lens compared with the Nikkor.

This is my first Voigtlander lens. I am using it with a Fuji X-T (soon to be up graded to the X-H1 or X-T3) and I can not express how satisfied I am with it. Built like a tank, yet with a good bit of heft. Very easy to use with the cameras focus peaking.

Buy this lens if you want photos to look film like. This lens has character. It is difficult to explain but this character really shows when you process your images to look like film. Part of this is the Bokeh.

Great manual lense that rivals the optical quality of leica.

An unusual lens with a "Japanese" character, which does not leave indifferent lovers of classical photography.

I am still learning this little wonder , yet again as most metal lenses there is a feel to them, maybe it is organic but when using these manual lens you are in control , and can do minute adjustments. I shoot with the A7 Sony's have the A7II in Infrared FC , the A7rII , and A7sII ...

very sharp, compact, lens

The lens is beautifully crafted and is very sharp even at f/1.4. If manual focusing if your thing and you love old school craftsmanship, get this lens.

It's a magnificent lens, great build all metall. The focusring moves very firm and smoothly, the aperture ring have very solid clicks. The images from this Nokton, have an interesting creamy artistic feel. Thats what the classic SC stands for, no ASPH lenses.
