Fast aperture lenses like this aren't for everyone due to their specialised nature. Those interested in having one of the fastest lenses currently available for the Micro Four Thirds system may still be tempted, either for exploiting excellent sharpness delivered by this lens when stopped down, or...

The flaws of the Nokton 0.95/25 are quite typical for very fast lenses with the field of view on the level of 40-50 degrees. In fact almost every single one of them features huge vignetting, high coma and an average image quality at the maximum relative aperture.

  • +

solid, very well-made and compact barrel at the same time,, very good f/0.95 aperture,, sensational image quality in the frame centre,, good image resolution on the edge of the frame,, chromatic aberration controlled in an excellent way,, decent correction of astigmatism,, not very bothersome...

the image is distinctly „fuzzy” at the maximum relative aperture,, significant vignetting near the maximum relative aperture,, high coma.

This lens completes my set of all the Voigtlander MFT lenses for my GH4 and GH5. I really like these lenses. They're solid, heavy, and very well made. The focus ring is firm but buttery smooth. A third ring declicks the aperture ring which is nice for video.

Simply an incredible lens. Everything about it--the feel, the smoothness of operation--screams quality. I don't detect a single false note. Of course the big claim for it concerns light-gathering capability. That is astounding. I frequently use the lens for astronomical images or pre-dawn pictures.

Great build quality and glass. feels solid when attached to my Olympus OMD-EM5. Focus rings are smooth and easy to manipulate. The stock lens cap falls out pretty much all the time but I never use the stock caps anyway so it isn't an issue for me (I've read that it is for some though).

Love this lens. A little soft at .95, but I've had several circumstances where I either need the speed or want the effect. Feels amazing in use. Can't really compare it to other m43 lenses, very different. Somewhat of a novelty lens wide open, but very sharp before f2 and up.

OK, it's a manual lens, but man, you can see in the dark with this baby and the bokeh is superb. Crisp, beautifully made; great for shallow depth of field but you'll absolutely need a grad. Excellent results off my Panasonic GH4 and AF100. Just a great lens.

I love the Voigtlandder lenses. I own all focal lengths. Beats every other lens

I swear by Voigtlander lenses. In my opinion, there is no better investment in the micro 4/3 format. I bought my first Voigtlander for my Panasonic GH3 and it's followed me to my Blackmagic camera. This is a full manual lens. There are no electronics. That means no auto focus and no auto exposure!

Voigtlander makes great manual focus prime lenses and this is one of them.

So with so many great normal primed for micro four thirds why would you buy a heavy manual focus lens? The Panasonic 25mm 1.4 is almost as fast, cheaper and autofocuses. There are 2 reasons the first is depth of field, and the second is manual control/build quality.
