I have reviewed many HD projection units over the past 5 years, but nothing like the ViewSonic PX800HD 2000 Lumens 1080p HDMI Ultra Short Throw Home Theater Projector. I have this placed on top of our current entertainment set.
Really frustrated with this. I bought one as a solution for my church, and it works so well that now I "need" to buy a second one...
Alright, to dig in to the pros of this thing. Ultra short throw is tremendous, albeit hard to get the right distance for a smaller screen I.E. any screen under 100” is going to be tough to get right.
The projector is exactly as advertised. For this price range, colors are very good and there is very little distortion on the edges. I would caution that: - The projector is very large (see measurements) - More than regular projectors, ultra short throw requires a good screen and the right setup.
It could be manufacturing defect but I had very wavy top edge. Text out of focus and elongated. Focusing lever was very coarse. Easy to get it out of focus because of being very close to wall.
It's fantastic. We're projecting it onto a wall for about 124-inch image. Planet Earth 2 looks amazing on this projector. We're using the "hidden" HDMI compartment for Chromecast, and either Steam Link or direct HDMI from the PC for games.
I've owned several Ultra Short Throw (UST) projectors and this is by far the best of the bunch. This Viewsonic is a much better option than competing LG solutions assuming you don't mind adding your own streaming device to match the functionality.
i just have to say for the price and picture? this projector is awesome!. my fan is quiet, now it puts out some serious heat. still is a great investment.
Bad Product and service they provided!
