decent, cheap way to add wifi to a box that doesn't have it. I put it on an antique XP macxine so I could move it to where I didn't have a hardware connection and it worked fine. No hassles or issues but I am also a retired computer tech.
Download the driver first. You'll need a program to unrar the file. After installation a sort of colorful and weird user interface comes up. You'll need to select from the list of networks and connect from there.
I've used Tenda WiFi dongles before and never had any real problems. They're great little budget dongles that I find tend to work best on older laptops running some of the older versions of Windows. It also worked on one of my Raspberry Pi's so that's a good thing too.
The wireless USB installed quickly with no issues whatsoever. I replaced my 5 year old wireless adapter that was crawling slow and things have sped up nicely on my computer. The wireless reception seems to be very good- no issues even with a dry wall between the computer and the WiFi source.
I'm technologically impaired to a certain extent, so I need something relatively easy to install. The Tenda 150Mbps Wireless PICO USB adapter firs the bill. I decided I wanted to improve the WiFi reception in my home, so I read the directions carefully - I even put my reading glasses on to read it...
I love the product
Dreadful Connection. Was getting 100kb/s on my 300mbs wifi, now use another adapter which was cheaper, and get 50-60mbps.
I ordered this to connect a laptop to network and it was super easy to connect. I am not a techie so ease of use is a huge plus. It tends to drop connection waaaay more than my son would like but its a great cheap option as long as you know connection can be spotty.
Had some issues until I finally downloaded the driver and now it is working great with my laptop.
works well in my area
