Tcl Alto 5 Stereo Soundbar

The TCL Alto 5 is a mediocre soundbar. This 2.0 stereo system is pretty barebones and doesn't offer great performance overall. It lacks a subwoofer, so its bass performance isn't the best. It also doesn't support any height channels so it can't play Atmos movies.

This is my first sound bar purchase, so I don't have much to compare it to. But from my limited knowledge, I am happy with the quality of this sound bar. It was pretty easy to get set up using the provided optical cords, and the sound itself is nice.

There are a couple ways to connect this sound bar to a TCL Roku TV. If you use the headphones cable to connect the TCL roku tv and the sound bar, you can use the Roku TV remote to control the volume and see the volume indicator on the television.

I bought this as a combo to go with a 50" TCL TV. Having owned a 55" for a couple of years now, I know the built in TV speakers are pretty bad, so I wanted to improve upon that. This soundbar does sound good out of the box.

I love the fact that the TV remote takes over for the sound bar once it's set up. Great sound for movies and most music. It's a sound bar so your not going to get floor shaking bass but it does ok for it's size.

Read other reviews about the bar not being controlled by Roku remote and such but in my case that's untrue. I have a TCL P605 TV and have the soundbar hooked up via optical output.

This is a great sound bar for the price, sound wise. We use it in a smallish room and it fills it well. Particularly because the TCL TV's internal speakers are not the greatest. My biggest gripe is that this doesn't work with the Roku Voice (RF) remote.

Volume is adequate. Easy to setup and the tcl TV remote provides all the control you need.

Wasn’t expecting great sound quality but was pleasantly surprised! Purchased originally just to use with a portable projector but makes my Samsung tv sound much better too. Very easy to set up, compact design and it comes with a little remote. Would definitely recommend !

I had an expert install the sound bar. If you want to do it yourself, you will need knowledge on how these things work. I bought a new TV from the same manufacturer. One would think it would install with no problems.

I purchased this TCL sound bar to go with my TCL TV In my bedroom. It’s perfect for a small room and amplifies the sound.
