Got this to connect an older Hasselblad to my new pc. I was using an adapter before to DisplayPort to my old Mac. The rear case bracket was my problem didnt fit into my motherboard when screwed in, it would pull the card and out from the pci socket(and yes I changed it to the optional standard size...
I recently upgraded my motherboard on my Multimedia workstation however the new board lacked the legacy FireWire port that I still need to connect a Digital IO device in my recording studio. I plugged this little gem into a PCI slot on my ASUS X370-A board and it works like a charm.
Using it in a Dell XPS running Win 7 Pro and I have to unplug and reinsert the FireWire cable every time I want to use my Tascam FW-1884 / Sonar setup. Never had this problem with the A version of the TI chip.
We needed a firewire card for our new editing computer and this one is a great choice. It offers 6 & 8 pin options for folks who still need a firewire application. This one worked great and we use it to capture video from our studio while recording and to input video from cameras and decks.
Works great and was simple to install. Hardware was immediately recognized by my Dell PC and worked right away without driver issues.
A true plug and play interface. Works with my MOTU896 mk III and Nikon Coolscan 4000ED under Windows 10 Pro.
It's been difficult to find a firewire card that actually works for me! This one works GREAT with my new MOTU 828 DA hybrid dconverter and my Hauptwerk organ software. I had to dig in my pc to find the power cable (why do they hide these cables?).
Basic firewire 400/800 combo card. Easy install and reasonably priced.
