Bottom Line Sony's X800D series of 4K televisions offers a wide color gamut and Android TV, but its black levels might as well be grays.

Strong color reproduction., Android TV features.

Very poor contrast and black levels., Remote feels awkward.

Great picture. Ease of use to set up. 49" screen was max size for room. Sound from tv ok, nothing grand. Paired it up with Sony sound bar /woofer now making the TV sound unlistenable. Though I may never used them, lots of inputs for connections. I like to keep things simple with electronics.

Picture. Inputs.

Speakers (need a sound bar at a minimum). Not a fan of the legs on the stand (all TVs basically the same). Like the older solid foundation stands on my last Sony. But that nitpick is irrelevant if you are planning to mount on a wall.
simple to setup. 30 minutes from box open to watching TV. pairs with comcast xr15 remote. reasonable color for price. i like the fact that the power supply is EXTERNAL to the TV. makes the tv thinner. a previous sony (8 years old), had a failed power supply, that was embedded within the tv.
We bought three weeks ago. Installation was easy, except it did conform to our previous wall mount. The picture is great as expected. The ease of use of the remote control gets a C- Much inferior to the Comcast remote. Sound quality better than old Samsung plasma.
This Sony replaced a 8 year-old Vizio. A lot's changed in the past 8 years! The sound is much more crisp and easier to discern. The picture is amazing. And pairing this with the new Roku (also purchased from Crutchvield) we love the technology and access to new programming.

As suggested in the review, the lifelike picture, dialogue we can actually understand, technology that gives us many, many choices.

I just got this Sony 49" TV and it took a few days viewing it to get to the fine tuning. We have a smaller living room and this 49" Sony was a perfect fit. After several days of viewing we found the general "Picture Mode" control was to gross in its refinement.
Purchased this TV and have been delighted with the quality. Works really well with my 4K Apple TV and youtube.tv cable tv replacement, which is one of the reasons I made the purchase. Just feels and look like a higher quality product compared to some other TV's in the range.
I love Sony TVs. I am very brand specific and I can actually say I have never had an issue with any Sony tv I have owned since I was a teenager. That says a lot. I still continue to use their very first flat panel tv they produced in my garage, and it still has a great picture.

Eh. I'm a Sony nerd. Don't know of any.
The picture is amazing, very clear and crisp with vivid colors. But the sound is terrible. Very tinny and hollow. I have to keep adjusting every time I watch, but nothing sounds good. Worst sound from a television I've had in years.
