Used this lav for the first time over the weekend in a noisy garage setting at a technical college. I purchased this specifically to cut down the echo problems in similar locations.
The mic supplied from Sony UWP-V1 is not suitable for interview record since it receiving all surrounding sound. But this one is better for recording interview.
I bought the microphone to use in the lobby of a busy hospital. Mostly marble and hard surfaces as well. Peripheral rejection was fine but the unit was too sensitive to cable noise and the Ps and T's popped. Not worth it even though it is an inexpensive purchase. I will never use it again.
One of the worst lavs I ever tried. ECM-V1BMP although omni polar pattern sounds much better (if you must stick to Sony)
