This mic is a real work horse. I have been using the same ECM-55B pair of lave mic's since 1993. You can't go wrong with this Sony Mic ECM-55B. I would recommend this mic to any video professional that want great audio.
Have'nt had it for long so can't testify to durability, but sound quality is good. Only negative is that the mic capsule is quite large relative to other manufactures so more noticible in shot.
Been using the 2 we have since 1993 and have never had a problem. It has been and still is a reliable workhorse of a mic. The sound is very professional and great for video production on interviews, etc. This is one Sony product that is really worth the money.
These mics will always perform to the highest expectations. This is my third ECM 55B and they always sound great and have been using them for several years.
I use these mics in deposition/interview situations and they are always reliable, providing a quiet (low noise), quality signal. Would definitely recommend them.
Can be powered through phantom
Perfect for interviews and classes.
Over the years I've acquired a small arsenal of microphones from the very expensive (costing over a thousand dollars) to the basic inexpensive models.Years ago while working on broadcast productions, I came across this industry workhorse beauty after hearing the clarity and richness of the broadcast...
Why buy any other lavalier microphone? My old one lasted 25 years. Only criticism: Why doesn't Sony make the insulating wire just a bit heavier gauge? I use this in the field, and would like a little more heavy-dutiness to the cord.
Best Mic in the price range. Extremely durable. Sound not too bright.
