The Sony Cyber-shot HX99 is one of the best travel-zoom cameras on the market, offering a compelling mix of great still and video image quality and an upgraded feature-set, in spite of a big jump in the asking price (in the UK at least ).

I was only looking when I bought this, it's the same physical size as near as damn it to the Hx90v and the Rx100, but polycarbonate rather than magnesium body. I've been told it feels cheap, but never noticed, the buttons are responsive but not inadvertently pushed, the touch screen works well, even...

I bought the -99 as an upgrade from my Canon SX230HS. More pixels, more zoom, live viewfinder. The body feels rock solid. Many controls feel flimsy but work just fine. I had it in Costa Rica for a three week vacation and it helped me take some nice shots.

I already have a number of Nikon's FF DSLRs and Sony's RX cameras, but what I needed was a pocketable camera (like my RX100 V) with a much longer zoom range. Alas, Sony produced the HX99.

Still trying to work with this camera but so far I'm not liking it. In auto focus, it not easy to get it to lock in onto the subject and the moment can be lost . Just wish the focus area could be change while in auto, so far it stays in wide mode and I would like it to be centered mode so I could...

Replaced a Nikon compact camera and much neater. Quality seems good and once you get the hang of the controls works well. I do like the retractable vow finder. Timer a bit of a fiddle though. The photo quality is very good and clear. So far very pleased with it.

Nice little camera With a good zoom. And will be a lot better once i know what i'm doing. Nice and compact for holidays.

Have had an HX50V for many years now, strapped to my hip when travelling! That old model produces really smooth 1080 50i/50p and so clean they upscale nicely to 4K to incorporate into my friends 4k video And on "P" mode, if you make the iso 80 and use a steady hand, the results are amazing.
