Excellent TV for a variety of uses. The perfect blacks of the emissive display result in excellent dark room performance. In a bright room, the reflection handling is excellent. Motion handling is also excellent due to the instantaneous response time, which is great for sports or gaming.

This is my 7th Sony XBR and my 4th hdtv. The definition is really good. The 4K movies are awesome tandemed with a Sony 4K Blu-ray player I recently got. I am still exploring other features. I am really happy so far. I have been a Sony customer for 30 years and have never been let down.

Even on sale the price is high but if you can afford it buy it you will not regret it
Great picture, wish the sound was a bit better though. Seems I have to have the volume set at a much higher number than my last set which was also a Sony. Other than that I really like the TV.

Not crazy about the slight tilt to the TV but I may end up mounting it in my cabinet which will solve the problem.
The XBR55A8F is amazing I bought this tv to replace a ten year old sony tv I have always been pleased with sony.
