The Sony 70-200mm f2.8 G SSM II is the quintessential piece of glass for several types of photographers. Take a look at the kit of any wedding, portrait, news, sports or wildlife photographer, and you’re bound to find this lens or its equivalent across camera systems.
I'm in the process of switching over to Sony with the new A99ii. I have the Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS II which is about the best zoom lens made by Canon or anyone for that matter. While I didn't expect this lens to match the Canon version precisely at every focal length, for $1000 more (really?
Beautiful lens, very clean and crisp images. Have used the lens on a A77 II and also a A7 II with the a mount to e mount adapter. Works wonderfully on both cameras. The lens is quite heavy and for extended periods of use I would recommend using a tripod.
Wow, what a lens. Premium glass. No regrets with this purchase.
So far lens lives up to expectations re sharpness. It is consistent with the reviews I read before purchasing. Heavy but very good. Very fast and silent focus. Getting shots I couldn't get with my Sigma F4 100-300 although a bit more sensitive to low light.
This is a great lens!! I'm not a professional photographer, but I always like a good product when I spend my money. It is expensive and heavy, but when you pick it up and look at it you know you have purchased a very good product. I have been very happy with all my pics I have taken.
Every photographer is seeking for this kind of lens. I was scared about the price when I bough it... but I use this lens more than I expected.
Heavy but great lens though expensive compared to other brands.
Worth the money. Clear photographs even if you crop
Could I say more! Love it...
If you are considering buying this lens- and you can afford it- then you already have a good deal of experience and know what you are going to get. A top class professional grade piece of glass that will help you achieve the very best shots possible. So what can I add from my experience?
