Affordably priced, the DT 18-250mm lens would be a good choice for photographers who want a DSLR body with just one extended-zoom lens. Its focal length range covers angles of view that will suit many different types of photographers.

Sony only has a warranty of 1 year for this lens. I had this lens for 2 years when suddenly the autofocus failed. When I called Sony their response was to buy an extended warranty plan next time. Says a lot about their quality and support. I take exceptional care with all my photo gear.

I have had this lens for a while, and these are the only cons i found. There is vignetting on some of my images, distortion on many, in some cases struggles to find focus, and very loud when it does. This lens is nice for a first lens, but definitely not a pro lens. These are my warnings.

This lense is so neat, never have to switch lenses, perfect for the all around close up or distance. Very sturdy but less bulky and lighter than other comparable lenses. For the money you won't be disappointed.

I bought this lens to partner my SLT A65 instead of the standard lens and what a great combo they make, I just love it. Light and versatile, this lens is my main travel companion and apart from an occasional switch to my 50 mm 1.4 lens, it is permanently fixed to my camera thereby avoiding the risk...
