It's a bit heavier than I wanted but I don't see myself carrying it very far. I wanted something tall enough that I wouldn't have to bend over and sturdy enough to handle long lenses. The 3 way head will take some getting used to but I like how solid it is.

I use the Slik tripod in both a home studio and in the field. In the studio, the tripod is great. It is sturdy and easy to manipulate the head. The height is widely variable and covers most needs. In the field, the tripod is a bit heavy and clunky.

Coming from a bottom of the line Canon Tripod, This was excellent. Extremely stable, easy to fold up. A little heavy but ont plan on hauling it anywhere far (up mountains, etc). Used this at the beach for a week and was able to get some great HDR without having to use a remote trigger (it was very...

I bought this a couple of weeks ago. It's pretty firm and steady, but it's quite heavy, so it's probably not the best option if you're planing carrying it on your vacation. Walking Paris, New York or some other big city with this tripod plus your camera bag wouldn't be so confortable On the...

Just getting into photography, I knew I needed a tripod for some of the shots I would like to achieve. The price seemed great and the reviews I had read were pretty good. It's rather well built for the money, seems very stable and versatile.

Nice quality piece. Sturdy and easy to use, although a bit heavy.

After using a 780dx in my studio for several years I decided to replace an ageing tripod for outdoor shots. This thing is rigid and will hold a 70-200 telephoto easily with no shake even in a breeze.

Excellent tripod and very much worth the price! Love the stability and the fluid motion of the head.

I'm mostly shooting reunions, birthdays, vacation travels to places I'll never return to, photos capturing life. I needed a sturdy, but yet light wt pod that would attach to the base of my outfit bag.
