While it is a little heavy, everyting else about this tripod is excellent. Smoothness of the ball panhead and ease of use are excellent. Plenty tall enough for me at 5'9. Very stable which is what I was really looking for. Highly recommend! Held my 6D with Sigma 150-600 C lens just fine.
The Pro 500 HD partners well with my Canon 7D mkII and long lenses for stills and video. Great build quality and reasonable weight.
I use this with heavy zooms on my A7Rii and it performs well. It is well made, durable and I love the friction adjustment for panning when shooting video. While heavy compared to some others it is able to support loads that I would never place on a lighter tripod.
This is a great, sturdy tripod for the price. One of the most useful things about it is that the legs separate and extend allow for the camera to sit close to the ground. It can allow for a sturdy set up for night sky or even astrophotography.
As a weekend warrior who takes his gear in the high country and on the raft this tripod and head works well without the worry of banging an expensive piece of equipment around. I can get a fluid panning shot both vertically and horizontallyI don't always get it the very first shot but I haven't had...
I find this to be a very good and versatile tripod. Must say I am biased as I have used SLICK since 1978.
I highly recommend this Tripod it's strong and easy to use
The tripod is sturdy and stable. I've put 6-7 pounds of camera and zoom lens on it and the tripod holds steady when taking horizontal shots. However, when I shoot celestial objects (camera pointing nearly straight up into the sky) it's difficult to lock that weight of camera & lens in place.
It looks sturdy and easy to use
