I am over 6 feet tall and have a difficult time stooping down to use a typical tripod. I enjoy nature, scenery and night sky photography. The extended height of this tripod has and will provide me with comfortable working usage.
The Sirui W-2004, waterproof, aluminum alloy tripod is of better quality & functions than I expected it to be, I attached a Sirui K-IOX ball head onto this w-2004 tripod. Along with using a Nikon D300S camera & multiple Nikon lens. No creeping & adjustments are made quickly & easily.
Used it in wild life parks and reserves with my D750 and NIkon 200-500. holds like a rock. No issues. Folds and packs well.
I use this tripod almost exclusively for video and photos at the beach and around other harsh environments. I was hoping to use it for my architectural photography business, but it's not sturdy enough for that. The whole tripod feels rather flimsy for the price and size.
Very sturdy seems well built and my initial impressions of it are very good. I would definitely buy this again.
I am a M4/3 shooter and this tripod is more than adequate for anything that I am likely to mount on it. I opted for aluminum over carbon fibre as I am a big strong dude so the extra weight wont be an issue. I paired it with the Sirui K30 ball head and the combination is very stable.
I own two other tripods and a monopod and was very disappointed to find that none of the would support my new lens. I researched high and low for a tripod and a monopod that would handle the weight and height requirements. The W-2004 did both while saving me hundreds of dollars!
So far, i'd rate this tripod as excellent. I cycled through several Sirui's including a few other brands while waiting on this one to come. Ultimately, I kept this one based on duty rating. it's heavy, but it's also not my hiker tripod.
Although I've only been using this now for a couple of weeks, it's all been great. I've used several different types of tripods in the past, none have been the type without a head unit. This is my first one that allows me the option of using a head unit; I'm using a Ball Head.
