I bought this set up a number of months ago to get a lighter travel tripod. At this size, the carbon versions shaved off very little weight and added a lot to the price. It sets up quickly and is well made. The ball head works well, though the panning knob is too small for my taste.
An excellent piece of equipment. Build quality feels really solid. I was hasty and didnt read the description fully so I didnt realize that it included a separate center column for achieving the nice low height of 5 inches. Good for shaving off a couple ounces of weight.
Used this on a three night backpacking trip in the North Cascades with temps from 20 to 70 F. Previously used the Manfrotto BeFree and found the Sirui to be superior in regards to performance.
I looooooove this tripod. It's rated at 8.8 pounds and is a great tripod for mirrorless systems. I shoot a Sony A7 with lighter, non-pro lenses. Most tripods mean are built a bit heavier and bit sturdier for SLRs with heavier lenses.
This tripod has a nice build quality with an alright ball head that easily supports my XT-2 and my variety of lenses. It's just what I was looking for, for travel or when out for a hike.
I needed a really small tripod to fit in my airline carry-on. The first one I bought from a known brand was such a piece of junk, I gave it away before returning home. After reading reviews, I bought this Sirui T-004X which was smaller, as stiff and just about as lightweight as a carbon tripod I was...
Perfect lightweight and very stable tripod. Used it on a few hiking trips so far and it's been doing incredibly well.
Very light and compact, easily attaches to my backpack. The Sirui ball head is fine for lighter lenses, some folks (me) may want to try a different head, which I did with my Induro head, non ball type. Worked out fine with my Tamron 70-200, F2.8.
