The Sigma 70mm f2.8 DG Macro Art is a great lens. It can shoot great images, they’ll be sharp, and the photos will be crisp. There is no doubting this. But the autofocus will be fussy at times. On top of all this, I wonder why Sigma chose to go f2.8 instead of f2.

The Sigma 70mm f/2.8 DG Macro Art is an affordable macro lens that delivers outstanding image quality in a format that can be effectively used hand-held as well as mounted on a tripod.
I love this lens, you can get really great closeups with it. I saw things through this lens that I could not see with my naked eye. Sigma is a good quality lens and at a great price.
Really sharp lens ha e used for portrait and macro and it has never disappointed me used on about 5 shoots and I used it for many types of shots and thats what made this lens such an easy purchase !
I take photos as a hobby. I have this lens mounted to my Sony A7II and Ive had it for about two weeks. While using it for macro shots, I have it mounted on a tripod and in manual focus mode.
Ideal for those who have a Sony a6500! Suites well for product, food, macro and even portrait photography paired with an APS-C body because it turns into a 105mm f/4. It has a lot of pro's: sharp lens, good bokeh, great image quality, not too heavy for a macro and also weather sealed.
