This review is being published in 2020, but was written in 2019. And seriously, I just wish Sigma made something like this for Mirrorless.
Most will find an optically stabilized 70-200mm f/2.8 lens filling a crucial role in their kits. This class of lens is one of the most-used and most-important.
Sigma’s 70-200mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports is a “zoom with all the trimmings.” It’s fast. It delivers excellent image quality. It offers optional fine tuning via switches, and ways to calibrate, customize and update using your PC and the Sigma USB Dock.
It's something of a beast in the hands, but if you can tolerate that then the 70-200mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM | Sports will reward you with excellent all-round performance. The fact that Sigma has managed to deliver it at this price makes it all the more impressive.

Very effective image stabilisation, Great build quality, Sharp results, even wide open at f/2.8, Superb control over chromatic aberration

Zoom ring position might bother some, Heavy, even by 70-200mm f/2.8 standards, Some vignetting (particularly at 70mm end), Tripod foot can't be removed
The Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports lens is bigger and heavier than all of its main rivals, but we can forgive that because of the compelling mix of fantastic sharpness and image quality, great build quality, and outstanding feature set and performance.
Sigma’s new 70-200mm Sport is a top-performance lens with sumptuous build quality and a mighty range of up-market, customisable features. It’s a little bigger and heavier than most competing lenses but handling is excellent nonetheless, and it’s remarkably good value at the price.

Lens is great. Versitle and the ability to program your own settings is a plus.
Love this lens and the fact that I can set some of the features to my preferences makes this even better.
I bought it a week ago and Im completely satisfied, I wasnt sure about buying this new version or the old 70-300 (cheeper). But It was a great call. Im a professional photographer (outdoors wedding photo), I was looking for excellent image quality and I got it.Strong, firm built.
At this price point I am amazed at how this lens works. Really, I think it is so close to my Nikon I can see no difference in quality. And it is sort of weather sealled! The foot is in fact a bit short. For the almost thousand dollar difference I will take that. Auto focus is fast.
I really wanted this to work. Trying to save money on the Nikon 70-200 F/2.8E. Using my D-750 I could not get sharp pictures at F/2.8 at any distance, did not mater what shutter speed. Keeped the shutter speeds at around 300. My Nikon 28-300 does a better job, that should not be the case.
I love the quality of this lens. Theyre heavy, solid and well built. The focus is on point, fast and sharp. Ive used it with my D800, D810, and D850 and no complains at all. My only issue is not being able to get rid of the tripod collar.
Finally, Sigma released Nikon mount 70-200mm, f2.8 Sports lens. The lens is strongly built lend for rough use. It has self calibration option, extremely sharp image at any focal distance. Barely needs to use sharpening in image processing. The price is relatively reasonable compared to Nikon brand.
Build quality is exceptional, picture quality is excellent... it works extremely well in low light situations with my Nikon D850 added to this having a 5 year warranty on the product because it's bought through UK Digital I will be definitely buying off them again.
All I can say is WOW. This lens is incredible. I have it mounted to a Nikon D850, and it is a perfect setup. AF is insanely fast and very accurate. This lens is insanely sharp edge to edge. It has to be one of the sharpest lenses I have ever used.
