This Sigma 4.5mm was bought for night star shots, horizon to horizon, and it does that indeed. In other uses, if one can keep one's feet out of the frame, it is wonderful for cityscapes. A walk in the park can be almost magical with this real fisheye.
It's weird and wonderful, as a fish-eye should be. This is a solid lens offering from Sigma. In spite of the enormous depth-of-field that is inherently available in such a lens, auto-focusing is a useful thing.
MyCircular Fisheye Lens arrived at home without damage one day earlier.
Fantastic lens. One of the best fisheyes I've owned and some of my others have been far more expensive.
This is the most extreme fish eye lens you can get for a APS-C camera. With a full 180 view, you get a full circular image, like the Sigma 8mm FE on a full frame cmera. Good lens quality. Luminous, fast and an excellent minimal distance of focus.
Perhaps I got a bad lens, but this lens is far too soft for my purposes. Remember, 180 degrees of vision is squeezed into a circle within the rectangular canvas of your camera's sensor (hence circular fisheye).
I purchased this lens to match a full-frame circular fisheye on a Nikon D300. This lens fits the bill. The images are stunning and sharp. This is the only circular fisheye for less than a full frame sensor, but that is not the only reason to recommend it.
Combined with Nodal Ninja rotating tripod heads, I'm using this lens to produce equirectangular 360deg x 180deg panoramas. Six shots in 60deg increments work perfectly when stitched with Hugin or AutoPano.
I have been shooting sport photos for a while now and was looking for something new to spice up the images. I wasn't sure how I could use the fisheye but now I have had a chance to use it... wow. I can get some excellent images from a perspective I have never used before.
Fantastic lens. For an idea of what this lens can do, go on any of the picture social websites.
