Maybe not the greatest wide angle lens ever, but its of staggeringly good quality for $200. If you want something appreciably better for a6000/a6300 you are looking at the $1500Carl Zeiss Loxia 2.8/21, which certainly should be better as it costs literally 7.5x as much!
I have been using this lens now for about two years, mostly for nature photography so I feel like I know it fairly well at this point. It suffers from chromatic aberration resulting in green saturation in the corners.
Great little walk-around lens for my Sony A6000. Sharpness and image quality are excellent.
Love this lens, great for taking photos on a trip!
I love the outcome so far!
This newly acquired Sigma has rapidly endeared itself for a number of reasons. It is light, sharp, relatively fast, and focuses well automatically with the Sony a6000.It is a good walk-about lens outdoors day and night and allows you to take advantage of available light indoors..
This lens is very sharp and very reasonable and quite compact.
As another poster here mentioned, the continuous autofocus has a "shimmer" effect on the corners of the image as it continually hunts for focus while shooting video. Using the a6500 with IBIS turned off, it still has issues. Probably fine for photos, but don't get this for video.
Just got this lens. Using for both an A6300 and an A6000 that's been converted for infrared (72nm). I was unsure if it would work for the IR camera as many lenses have a hot spot in the center of the frame when used for IR. I was very pleased to see that this lens does not have that problem.
I bought this instead of getting the kit lens from Sony and so far I have no regrets. It makes a weird clicking sound when you shake it, but I feel that it'll happen to any lens when shaken hard enough.
