These mics works well. They are very susceptible to overly sweaty actors but other than that works well.
Sometimes size, color, and quality are important choices. I had a particularly difficult shoot and needed a microphone that matched a lamp shade...the conversation was over the lampshade...a very close conversation between two men...rather than use a more traditional approach with a single mic..
The microphone works well and has a flat response.
In previous years, our High School Theatre Productions used Lapel microphones, to minimal success. This year we invested in a few of these Micro-Lavalier Omni Mic's. The change in our sound quality was immediate.
This lav microphone is an affordable alternative for small budgets. An exceptional mic for on-camera use, it's a workhorse for the industry. Though not the best for applications where actors perspire, the omnidirectional field works great for stage.

The WL93 is a great microphone element for many uses. I primarily use my WL93s for musical theatre in small and midsized houses paired with Shure wireless transmitters. I do youth theatre as well, and the build quality of these can hold up to most energetic teens, and are cheap enough to incorporate...

These certainly could be considered the little guy of lav mics, but they deliver big on performance and "right on" in value. I run a small public access improv comedy TV show, Scenes from a Hat, and have struggled to find the right mic solution for my improv players.
