I use this mic to record House Concerts. It is suspended over the artist to capture better sound than my video camera does. It captures the real ambience of the artist in a live performance.
This microphone excels in the environment it was intended for--namely vocals in a controlled studio. If placed properly, it can eliminate the need to run individual lavs to each person, minimizing set up time. We plan to buy additional units and have several hanging for maximum effectiveness.
Used the mic on the included stand mount on a boom. Worked great for miking the dramatic scenes at the Christmas pageant. Kept the scene contained in a 8 foot radius of the mic. For EQ in the space it was in used the mid-sweep feature on the mixing board to 'roll off' the 600 hertz frequency's.
I've been using this model in my church for many years. It's good for the price. The only down side is you have to be carful not to pull it down from the cable. I had to replace few of those because some users tried to pull it down with their hands. Pick up pattern is OK but not perfect.
We were all blown away by the pickup responsiveness of these mics. They had their first run used as hanging stage mics for our performance of Godspell last week. The inline preamps allow for some tweaking to get the right amount of gain.
One of the best choir mics I have ever used.
Best Choir mic used based on application needs.
We have two hanging AT mics for our choir, but they just weren't picking up enough. We wanted to put one in the center to pick up additional sound, but the projector and screen are right in the middle, so we got one of these and put it on a stand to augment the two hanging ones.
This mic is wonderful. It's small and inconspicuous, but it picks up amazing audience laughter and applause.
Best sound and best price
