While the Sharp LC-UQ17U offers decent picture quality its pseudo-4K features simply aren't worth paying extra for.

The Sharp LC-UQ17U offers decent picture quality with relatively deep blacks and excellent shadow detail; having a native 4K input might be useful in the future.

Too expensive given it's not a true 4K TV; the Revelation upscaling engine adds artifacts in dark scenes and can actually obscure fine 1080p detail; discernible pixel structure prevents sitting close enough to perceive 4K-like detail; THX mode could be more accurate; occasional solarizing color...
I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. I get movie like clarity and picture on my TV. In fact this is the 2nd one that I have bought. Everyone that sees it ask what kind it is and how do I get such a great picture.
Awesome picture. I debated for 6 months over which 70" to purchase, but I believe I made the right choice. Picture sharpness is great. The only "downer" is that the base doesn't allow the TV to be flush mounted to my front of my entertainment center, but I knew that going in, so no deduct on the...
Great TV! Once I calibrated the set it has a stunning pic, to me.. Coming from a 70 E series Vizio the blacks and rich color are beautiful.. I have a true 55" 4K set in the other room and this set has a picture that is very close in quality, with an 80 inch screen..
Incredible picture! Bright colors, deep black. My first 3D tv, and it really adds depth to the movies. Can't comment on the audio, because I have external speakers.
This television does have analog inputs. Hollywood is banning analog so you would be wise to purchase video equipment with analog video capabilities. They would like everything to be HDMI because this gives them total control of your viewing.
I purchased this television 2years ago and already have two lines across the screen.
I first purchased this Sharp LC-70UQ17U based on great reviews of picture quality. Yes the picture is very nice the TV looks great. 16 months after ownership the panel failed and had red, black and blue lines across the screen.
Have the Sharp LC-70UQ17U for one year now and the unit consistently disconnects from my wireless home network. I have moved my home wireless router to other places in the house, I have bought a new, stronger router, and even connected the TV by cable to the router but the Sharp LC-70UQ17U simply...
It met all of our expectations, Great color and ease of use.
