I upgraded from a G2 and a G3 set, both of which were in the 600mhz block. I started to experience lots of interference in the last year with those sets, likely due to the auction of that frequency block.
I love this wireless system. It provides so many possibilities due to the flexible settings. Not only does this work as a lapel mic but I've also used it to get sound from a laptop projector for a wedding and wirelessly transmitting the audio out into my mixer across the room.
I used a nearly identical Sennheiser G3 model from 2010-2018 that operated in the 600 Mhz range that the FCC is no longer allowing, so I bought this to replace it, and it has performed exactly as expected.
I used to work at a video company, now I'm on my own so I purchased a set of these (like we had at my job). Such good RF transmitters. Super reliable. Clean sound. Very good range.
I like this system. Easy to use but I also purchased Sanken COS 11 D lavs that sound so much better and can be hidden. The supplied lavs are fair but too big to hide.
The Sennheiser EW112-p G3 wireless system has really impressed me. It's solid, the audio is clean, very easy to set up, and works like a charm when paired with the Zoom h4n disc recorder. The range is incredible. Multiple selectable frequencies and multiple selectable channels.
Pros:-Nice Lav Mics-Nice Transmitter-Nice Reciever-Nice CaseCons:-Handheld micis okay-Accessories, like hip holder case, and tri hot shoe mount are not the best quality-The overall difference between the G3 kit and this kit is not worth the upgrade.
great piece of gear, very easy to use right out of the box. Very great quality the lav works up to about 50 yds away from the receiver which is great. Only real complaint is the anteenna seems a little flimsy but its been durable for me.
I was very happy and they even came pre synced. Great for when I am working on my own and no boom operator. I wish it had come with a second transmitter and mic for a two person conversation but oh well. Otherwise a great purchase.
Good Transmitters, gotta know what you're doing to use multiple receivers and transmitters though.
