If you've stepped into an audio store of any kind, or the headphone section of a big box store, you know the name Sennheiser. The first "real" headphones I bought were Sennheisers. I used them until the pleather on the cups cracked and started sticking to my ears (they were on-ears).

As I mentioned earlier in this review, I have tried out and owned a lot of different headphones and earphones over the years. I'm not a full-on audiophile, but I do love good, clean sound. I'd much rather have accurate and well-balanced sound than brain shaking bass. Not that bass is a bad thing.

Sennheiser’s Momentum mantra is “the symphony of perfection” and “the pursuit of perfect sound”. It would be a stretch to consider them “perfect,” but that’s ok – they’re not targeted at audiophiles, necessarily.

Sennheiser’s on- and over-ear Momentum models have been highly praised for successfully combining form and function, bringing Sennheiser audio performance to the style-focused headphone segment.

Sennheiser’s new headphones are more than just good-looking, they’re downright sexy. Maybe it’s all the brown leather, but the Momentums seem to be steeped in that same, oddly masculine brand of cool that hovers like a halo over the best gear from 30 or 40 years ago.

  Fantastic sound with superior isolation. So compact, so comfortable. High price is actually reflected in the build quality — a rarity among style-minded consumer headphones. It wouldn’t surprise me to see a photo of Steve McQueen wearing these, along with a Tag Heuer Monaco, a cashmere turtleneck...

The Sennheiser Momentum on-ear headphones are accurate in delivering sound quality but it’s not designed for long periods of usage. With a price tag of $230, it failed to live up to my expectations.

While we'd like to see it cost a little less, Sennheiser has fixed the original Momentum's one weakness, making the new 2.0 Momentum not only sound slightly better but fit more comfortably.

First, I'm not an audiophile, nor do I know a whole lot about headsets to make a thorough review, but I did a lot of research before buying these and compared them to as many as I could.The quality is what stands out the most; from the packaging to all the finishing details.

Best sound out of all the top noise cancelling headphones. I tested against 2 other top brands using HD music files as a source. Easily the best sounding. You hear details that you totally miss with other headphones. Volume output at the same settings is far superior.

Some of what you're paying for with these is the attention to detail / brand, so you may be able to find similar results at a cheaper price point but that's both a con and a pro.

  -Very satisfying sound especially the punch of the bass. -Everything else is crystal clear and will sound nearly perfect to a semi-audiophile or casual listener. These were the first pair for headphones I've bought for over $200 and I wasn't disappointed.

Solid headphones. Better than Beats and Bose in this price range. Doesn't distort at high volume like Bose. Better clarity and tighter overall sound than Beats. Small cable however.

Today, I'm taking yet another step into my favourite headphone manufacturers catalog, Sennheiser! This time, I went to a slightly higher margin from my usual's and took a mid-high range set for a go, the Sennheiser Momentum in-ears.

Although the individual qualities for the Momentum don't stand out from average that much, the final arbiter is the sound, in this case excellent and sublime. The best bass-to-midrange-to-treble balance I can remember, just warm enough and detailed without irritations - much like a B&W P5 raised to...

First off, I like the way these headphones look. They’re classy but not flashy. It has a nice headband stitching and a nice consistent design. The headband has a metal piece that runs all the way through. It has a decent enough clamp to stay on your head but doesn’t create too much pressure.
