I mainly want to defendAndre_Bahs review in which he complains about the cable noise. I use the AVX mics for video depositions. I was so excited to have something so portable and simple to use, but after several months of use,I am very disappointed with this product from a company whose products I...
Spoiled by the audio quality of my wired Countryman B6, I was a bit concerned when production needs forced me to get a wireless lav a while ago. After studying many reviews, I settled on Sennheisers AVX set, and it turned out to be a great choice.
I'll cut straight to the chase... The Sennheiser AVX should be in every pro's audio kit. This is a product designed with professionals in mind. It's compact, user friendly, and smarter than me at times.
Got the AVX for times when I don't have a sound person with me. Really great, compact system that sounds excellent. Compared to when I use a soundperson with industry norm Lectrosonics, the AVX with the better mic (MKE2) matches perfectly.
I wrote up a review of the AVX system a few weeks ago. At the time I really liked it and I still do. Great system, simple to operate, great signal. However there is one important thing I think a potential buyer should be aware of.
Where to start? Thin audio is to live with. Having to charge the batteries is a potential disaster - if you forget. But the worst is the delay the digital processing produces. If you combine it with an analog system without a delay, monitoring is a pain, as you get a kind of echo when monitoring.
I am using sony a7m3, so the sound level is 10db, there is a lot of noise, but when reduced to 1db the noise is completely lost and the sound is clear
Easy to set up 1-2-3 done, clear sound no out side nose.I highly recommend.
The prior Sennheiser GH4s had a cleaner sound. It could come from the lavalier mic, however, Id say if possible go with the prior set.
I've never owed a lav set up before and have only used 1 once before, and I was able to pull this out of the box, charge it, and set it up without ever looking at a tutorial. This product is extremely well thought out, natural to use, exceptionally well made.
