The Sennheiser HD 700 is a large, full-size audiophile headphone model with a wide-open sound profile and transparency that sounds great on digital music players.

The HD 700 is very expensive, so some buyers might be put off by the amount of plastic used in the design.
When it comes to mid-fi sound, options abound. To the beginner audiophile, the optionas can look equally impressive. The Sennheiser HD700 looks a great deal like the more expensive HD800 and HD800S, but sports a lower price tag of $499.
The Sennheiser HD 700 are serious £600 headphones that sit between the long-standing HD 650 and HD 800 models. Tonally, they sit somewhere in between too, melding the dark-leaning tone of the 650 with the more refined detailing and superior bass balance of the HD 800.

Not an HD 800-beater, Some may prefer brighter signature
A mid-range audiophile offering may sound like a clumsy stepping stone for Sennheiser between their HD 650s and HD 800 headphones, but the HD 700s are anything but. We dive into sonic sublimity with the Sennheiser HD 700 headphones in our full review.
I have purchased the HD700 a few weeks ago and I have to say from the start these headphones are nothing less than a testimony to the extraordinary sound engineers that designed them.
I never thought that headphones would make that much of a difference. Except for bass presence (impossible in a headphone) theses headphones sound better than my surround sound system. Totaly clear great soundstage. All of this with a standard AV reciever.
