C onfession time. I usually don't expect much from headphone manufacturers when it comes to building their own amplifiers. I've never particularly liked any of the amplification offerings from companies like Beyerdynamic, HIFIMAN or Fostex.
Stunning with HD800S headphones! Going to pair it with a Resonessence Labs Invicta Mirus Pro so the DSD channel problem goes away and maybe I’ll get even better performance. Like it better then my Violectric V280, V281, Ayre Codex and MHA100.
The Sennheiser HDV 820 is a beauty to look at and it's very easy to use. The amplifying part is very well done, making it worth the dollars. The sound is quite satisfying, though not that superb (when compared to Chord Hugo 2 or even Chord Dave).
The Sennheiser HDV 820 is a beautiful piece of audio gear. It'sThe finest headphone amp I have ever had the pleasure of owning.I'm using the it to drive my matching Sennheiser HD 800S headphones, and it's a powerful match. The sound is stunning.
