Bought 2 of these drives for my NAS. They have been online for several months now without error. These drives replaced 2 failed WD NAS drives. Speeds are consistent with these drives and I am not having to refresh connections or wonder why speeds are slow again.
Seagate Technology® plc in collaboration with Synology, have created this drive for NAS systems. For those people who may be unclear about a NAS, it is a network-attached storage device, which holds one or more hard disks and connects into your network, giving other devices access to the stored...
I bought 4 of these. So far so good. They work great in my Synology DS918+
Tried Seagate Again - But 1 of 2 Drives Failed within 6 months in a Surveillance NAS. Going back to Toshiba drives. I have had 3 different NAS setups with Toshiba drives that are still running today. Will try to warranty, but likely will not have much luck
Waiting to see if it will fail. So far so good
SUPER FAST!!! I use it in VEEAM as a dedicated backup drive in my Dell T130 PowerEdge Server. It will backup a 50GB virtual machine in less than 4 minutes. That is a FULL backup, not an incremental. This is the fastest HDD I've seen. Love it!
It works as expected. Love the size - I prefer Seagate brand. Hope it lasts = 5 years expected.
Went back and forth trying to decide whether to get the Barracuda Pro to match the other that was already in my RAID, or to get the IronWolf Pro. Only when I met a LaCie rep (owned by Segate) did I find the answer: Pay the extra money for the IronWolf.
One of them started making the clicking sound of death after only two months of use. Terrible.
quieter than my other hgst
