So far this drive works perfectly. However, my target machine is a Mac Pro 5,1 (2010). The screw holes on the drive don't match the mounting slide in the drive bay. I'm using it with only two out of four screws holding the drive.
I bought this drive to use in a NAS installation. I realize its marketed as a surveillance drive but that also means its expected to have a 100% duty cycle, this drive is meant to be written to pretty much continuously. It should work fine in a nas installation.
Weird noise in idle..( yes, Idle ) Slow as hell when transfering data.. probably a bad copy or I don't know what.. not having the issue with my other drives ( older models )
Works very well and runs fairly cool compared to the other hard drives in this system.
I have purchased many drive and these have worked very well in my NVR.
After 6 months of use it is giving me pages of recording errors. I reformatted the drive and gave it another chance but still fails constantly. Now i have to buy another drive and it won't be this one!
Easy to install and works great.
Comes ready to use, easy installation, high quality at a great price
Had an extra from a security setup and bought a few more and put them in a raid 10 server setup, work great no failure and plenty of use
Used it right away It sits in an NVR unit Still working without any issues
