Seagate 6TB Backup Plus USB 3.0 External Hard Drive with USB Hub

Plugged it in - took a few minutes to set itself up on the PC. When it came up it was easy to rename. All looks good so far. Using it to save about 85 digitized VHS home video cassettes. Then will back up other types of files on 3 smaller portable hard drives.

Seems like a good solid drive. Starts on boot-up so no on/off switch which is really redundant anyway. Comes formatted for Windows and Boot Camp and you can configure it to do Time Machine backup on installation or of course you can reformat it for Mac, but that removes the Boot Camp ability so you...

To me most software for auto backup other then time machine from apple is meh. I could write a lot about how I like to back my pc's info up. But the short version is I prefer mac os. I clone my 3 mac minis 1 time per month using super duper cloner. I run time machine and this works pretty well.

  6tb and will allow you to clone your mac and act as a boot drive. Or just use it to act as your time machine drive. Price is okay. I got it as an eggxpert reviewer I like to use it as a charge device. It also makes for a good external boot drive for my mac mining

  I do not like the software. I don't like the cloud. But I am old school been with computers since mid 70's and i do all my own backups. I waited for more then thirty days to review this as I really tired to get used to the software and I just don't like it.

This drive works as spec'd and I have two - one bought 15 months again and the other 39 months ago. No issues with either EXCEPT - the versions of this labeled "Hub" which act as extension USB ports also have a problem with Windows. Windows will NOT RELEASE THEM to eject. Win7 or Win10.

I wanted an external hard drive to work with Windows 10 file history to provide a primary backup for files on my desktop PC. So far, this Seagate drive works great. Installation was easy, and I was surprised how little time the first backup of 200+ GB required.

This drive has a lot of space for my backups. It took a long time to backup 4TB of data from my computer. Im replacing two 4TB drives with this one and one new internal 8TB drive. This should do the trick as Seagate are probably the most reliable drives out there

  I got this to see if exterior hard drives will do a better job of backing up my music and photos. So far I love it. Set up is easy, I guess you should test the drive first before starting any backups.

Easy to install and no issues with saving data, BUT, after a week I started getting pop up messages saying try another USB cable, the signal is weak. That is not an easy thing to do, as it comes with it's own USB cable that has a connection that plugs into the Hard Drive, that I have never seen...

If you using a Mac DO NOT follow their down load. I had to call Seagate and I have been doing this for thirty years. Just use your disk utility to erase and reformat to Mac JournaledI now have several terabites if photographs and the drive works perfectly

This is the 3rd one I've purchased. I was outgrowing my 5TB drives connected to my router (i.e. accessing them as shared network storage). Swapped them out for these 8TB drives, and connected the 5TB drives to their USB ports. It's working out great.
