Only two years of recovery service, Not as fast as flash, No NAND buffer, Low IOPS-per-watt
Just like its predecessor the Barracuda Pro 10TB the 12TB variant is one of the fastest SATA III hard disk drives in the market today. Also thanks to the addition of an extra plate it’s actually even faster compared to its predecessor something which we also saw when we reviewed the IronWolf and...

It has been a while since I took a shot at hacking a song for the introduction of a review here at APH Networks, so I enlisted little bit of help from Matt Redman to the tune of "10,000 Reasons". My personal favorite is still the Thermaltake Tt eSPORTS Meka G-Unit , haha.
With games getting bigger and movies switching to 4K resolutions, the amount we need to store for our digital lives is forever increasing. While cloud services help, sometimes you need something local to keep everything on.
Move over Desktop HDD, Barracuda is back! Today, Seagate launches its 10TB Barracuda Pro 10TB helium-filled hard drive. Here's our full review.
It is always a race for who can deliver the first hard drive with a higher capacity to the Hardware.Info test lab. This time it is Seagate to win it and they do it with style. The Barracuda Pro 12TB is not only the biggest, but also the fastest hard drive that we have ever tested. More good news?
The new BarraCuda Pro 10TB HDD by Seagate has far too many similarities with the IronWolf 10TB model so we never really expected it to do much better and just looking out our charts you can see that this is partially true.

With a staggering amount of storage capacity, the BarraCuda Pro exceeds its advertised read and write speeds, while delivering consistent performance and the best warranty in its class. This drive proves there’s still a place for rotational storage in the gaming world. — Ron Burke

A high price for rotational storage
Not sure how you review a surveillance hard drive when new. It's the right size and shape. Excellent. It works. That's good. No unusual smells or noises. Check. Still seems a little pricey (everywhere its sold) for something produced using automation on such a massive scale, but hey - it seems cheap...

Bought two Seagate BarraCuda Pro ST6000DM004 6TB HDD 256 Cache to replace two Seagate BarraCuda 2TB HDD 64MB Cache. transferred over 1.6TB of data to each 6TB HDD from the 2TB HDD using Win10 which had no issues. Temps never went up during transfer.

None so far, only had them for a day
Installed this in a new Dell 8920, as the secondary data drive. Using an SSD as the main system/boot because starts up very fast, from off to windows desktop in less than 30 seconds. Highly recommend using an SSD as your system drive, and then a regular (non-SSD) as your secondary and data drive.
It is everything someone could want for a HDD. Plenty of internal space for a fantastic price! I would recommend to everyone that this HDD would be the best thing to buy for more space.
This drive has a transfer rate just under half of some very fast SSD drives I have...for a mechanical drive, it's freakin' fast!

Installed and formatted with no problems. Formats at 9.09TB...will hold massive amounts of data...even a ton of Blu-ray movies. Used CrystalDiskMark to benchmark and got very good transfer rates: Sequential Read: 245.6MB/s Sequential Write: 232.6MB/s I also did a real time data transfer from my...

So far, I have no complaints at all about this drive.
Previously bought another vendors drive and had problems from the beginning. This drive is huge and I had no problems with installation nor the performance of the drive. I use this drive as a storage of files and backups and use a Solid-state Drive (SSD) as the primary boot drive.
Bought this for media storage and it works great. Plan to buy another in the future when this one fills up.
I have been using the drive for over 6 months now and it has been working perfectly. I record over the air broadcast TV shows and have filled the drive to capacity and then deleted files to make room for more several times without any issues. It was very easy to set up.
Set up with my home Surveillance system and runs good. Very reliable.
I picked up the 12 TB version of this in March 2018 (1 month ago). So far, I have had zero problems with it. My computer recognized the drive with no problems, and created a 12 TB partition without incident. I have seen zero indications of any strange behavior or potential problems.
