Average performance
I bought this seagate looking for more storage space to keep my backup audio files. Each time I tried to connect to to my Mac I came up with problems. When first formatting it came up with issues and made the seagate unmounted and unreadable.
Time will tell how long the unit will maintain operations before succumbing to issues. You are getting some good bang for your buck for this amount of storage. And though the HDDs in this device are running at 5400 rpms the read/write benchmarks utilizing usb 3.0 are good.

The unit has 4TB of storage and utilizes usb 3.0 speeds. Can backup data and pics on your social media sites. Additional benefit is you get some space on the Cloud. The device has a relatively small form factor for having 4tb of storage.

I see no cons other than the short time frame this is warrantied for.
I have several of these HDDs for my videos and movies. I use them for all of my backup needs. The different colors make it easy to keep things organized. I have not had any failures over several years starting with the 2TB drives. I just recently purchased two 5TB drives for testing.
The hard drive case has a smooth, basic finish. Nothing fancy about it at all, but I like the simplicity, but I wish it had some rubber feet on the bottom to keep it from sliding around my desk.

Good value for the storage capacity. Small form and still lightweight even with 4 TB worth of platters inside.

No rubber feet on the case to keep the drive from slipping on the surface of a table or desk. Average transfer speed using USB 3.0, but is slow when using USB 2.0; It seems to hang every 500 MB - 1 GB using USB 2.0, for some reason.
I bought this to back up multiple windows computers. I generally get between 50 and 65 Mbytes/second transfer rate, which seems very good for a USB3 bus powered drive. Note that some older computers cannot identify a 4TB drive (one of mine is limited to 2TB) so check this before buying a large...
I think this is a good addition to a SSD for storage My SSD is only 180 GIG which is perfect for the OS and programs

Needed a small device to backup a disk on my Drobo NAS. This did it. Now Im back up on the NAS and will use it again to do a clean install (nuke & pave) on laptop. For the price, well worth it.
