I've combined it with a small SSD for the system, on a 2009 Macbook, to make a backup server. The drive is plenty fast enough for backups and movies, since the bottleneck is the network. For the time being, the drive is very quiet, so there's nothing to complain about there.
I bought this for my ps4. I've had it for about a month now it appears to be working great I'm not a tech guru so i cant give a lot of details on performance that's why I gave it a 4 star rating. I know its better then the one that came with the ps4 and my system hasn't crashed randomly yet.
Installed Windows 10 pro on here and works pretty great! It is not an SSD speed, but fast enough for me to do work on such as load documents and Adobe. Definitely has a lot of space to add all my data.
I bought this hard drive to increase my internal space on my ps4 personally I was scared cause I had never done it b4 but the job went well and the storage space is amazing I've downloaded everything I could so far and still have space the 2 terabyte is more than enough for my needs so downloading...
To put in a NUC acting as a HTPC, this drive (9mm) is fast and very quiet. In a passively cooled machine, you can't hear it at all past 1m. I can't say how long it will last, but from experience with this brand, it should last for many years, even in 24 hour use (under Linux).
Purchased for use in a Tablo Quad OTA (Over The Air) DVR. Opened up the Quad and slid this into the available slot and it worked perfectly. Now I'm able to record and playback my OTA TV programs. No buffering issues at all.
Easy to install. Faster than my other HHD. Frees up my ssd drive with the OS.
I bought this drive to do my own TiVo upgrade and it works great! I've been using it for about 3 months now and since the TiVo is constantly on and using the hard drive to record and playback shows, I've been giving this drive a run for its money.
Installed behind an SSD, to replace a 500GB HDD that was getting a bit small, the recognition by Windows 10 was immediate and without any problem. Since then, it has been forgotten and has been accumulating data.
Got my PS4 installed with this hard drive and now things run smoother, I have far more storage (1.77 TB after firmware) and it was overly simplistic.
