Running 5 of these in a Drobo array. Have been faultless in daily use (oldest drive is more than a year in constant use). They run warm under load, and are quite noisy in read/write, but get the job done reliably and seamlessly.
Liked it so much that I purchased a SECOND one. Lot of room to save my many files, especially photos and videos. Purchase was especially good, as the price has come down since it was initially introduced. Recommended!
I bought a few of these for my new Synology NAS, I've gotta say these are BEEFY! So far, no problems here whatsoever. They all worked right out of the box as expected and are quite fast, though I don't have exact specs.
FAST! over 188MB/s sustained r/w on SATA II 3.0Gb/s Excellent choice for a Mac Pro for a fat, fast striped RAID 0/5, or as a Time Machine/ clone/ storage drive. Plenty of performance in single-drive for general use for HD movie/video/audio storage and playback without delays, stops or stutters.
Coming from 4TB Re4 drives (4) and the going to 8TB VN drives (6 drives in 2 units) I ended up with a these Ironwolf Pro 10TB (NE) drives -- 6 for a 6 bay QNAP TS-653A. 1 arrived DOA and 1 was pretty noisy during initial testing on my PC so RMA's both and took 2 1/2 weeks to get 2 replacements.
Working great on my server for my media files. Nice storage bump from my old 2TB drive.
Drive works great
I bought a total of 8 after 2 years two started showing bad sectors but Seagate responded with replacements - I just paid the shipping to the Seagate destination, all else was free. These drives run in my Synology NAS and are very good hard drives.
Easily installed and to configure as part of my NAS.
I don't normally leave reviews. I have several of these drives, they all failed after a month of use.
