Sandisk 256GB Ultra USB 3.0 Flash Drive

It does use a retractable design followed by 5 years warranty period label, but in reality the write speed is so bad, it shouldn't be labeled as USB 3.0, rather its a drive that happens to have a blue coloured connector. The read speed is mediocre, so for such tasks it shouldn't be an issue.

A 256GB will hold a lot of images. Put it in your pocket, vest, camera bag, ... and you have an extra backup. Much smaller than portable HDD (though a portable HDD can store 1-4 TB), though I seldom shoot even a TB with my wife on a single trip.

Caveat emptor all over again. Careful reading of the footnotes reveals that Write speed is "up to" 10X that of a USB 2.0 drive (4.0MB/sec.). So, the maximum Write speed under perfect conditions and the most favorable measurement MAY reach 40MB/sec.

  Careful reading of Overview, Footnotes, and Specifications reveals limited claim of Write speed. If you just read the main description at the top of the page here you might think it's a fast all-round performer which it is not! Why not give it a Lifetime warranty if it's such a good product?

Small, retractable connector. Large enough for almost all of your portable data needs. Pricing at Micro Center is competitive with other purveyors. The best part about this product, was it was available in store, and staff were able to provide concise product information.

Sam's Club must clarify in "About this Item", Two 32 Gigabyte (GB) Universal Serial Bus (U.S.B.) Drives or Two 16 Gigabyte (GB) USB Drives (to equal 32 GB. Most people will not read that asterisks (*) online you cannot flip over and read the asterisks notation.

The Flash Drive worked as advertised. I use them for back-up storage for my videos and photography master files....it saves space on the lap-top.

The price was good, the capacity and speed are high and the product is well-made and reliable, from a good company. What more can one ask for?

Both 16 GB drives presented as 64 GB drives when inserted into two different computers (one Windows 10, and one Windows 7). Windows stated that the drives needed to be formatted prior to use, but repeated attempts to format failed, regardless of options selected.
