Wide-angle lenses aren’t just for shoehorning more of a scene into the frame. They’re also great for exaggerating perspective and stretching the apparent distance between close foreground objects and the background.

• Wide viewing angle, • Wide aperture rating, • Full electronics package
-

• Mediocre wide-aperture corner-sharpness, • Low rather than no distortion, • Pricier than most Samyang lenses
Samyang’s ultra wide-angle 14mm f/2.8 is the first of the company’s autofocus line-up to hit Canon’s EF mount, as well as being available for Sony’s E-mount models. When used with APS-C sensors, you get a touch over 22mm, which is still an ideal length for landscapes.
Samyang’s lineup currently features as many as three full frame 14 mm lenses: two manual ones, as fast as f/2.4 and f/2.8, and the autofocus model, tested here. To be honest all three perform similarly well, presenting a very good optical level.

excellent image quality in the frame centre,, good image quality on the edge of the APS-C,, sensible image quality on the edge of full frame,, very low lateral chromatic aberration,, lack of problems with longitudinal chromatic aberration,, low astigmatism,, moderate vignetting on the APS-C/DX...

worse distortion correction than in the case of the rivals,, problems with autofocus accuracy,, huge vignetting on full frame,, impossible to use classic filters.
With a highly competitive price tag, high quality all around and an especially fine optical performance, the Samyang AF 14mm f/2.8 lens for Nikon F certainly more than justifies its cost.

The new Samyang AF 14mm f/2.8 EF is a very affordable, yet still high-quality, ultra-wide-angle lens for Canon full-frame DSLR cameras, and also APS-C models where the effective focal length is 21mm.
The new Samyang AF 14mm f/2.8 FE is an affordable, yet high-quality, ultra-wide-angle lens for Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras. It's also the second ever auto-focus lens from Samyang, who have always specialized in producing manual-focus only lenses, improving on the AF 50mm f/1.4 by having a...
Very please with the lens on my EOS R. There is a very little vignetting and the auto focus is fast and accurate. There is very little pincushion affect, much less than I expected. Images are pin sharp all the way to the edge. I did a test using every aperture from F2.8 up.

Great build quality, was a little nervous about buying Samyang but i am not disappointed. It is however a little heavy to carry around if you're not expecting it.Autofocus is quick and accurate.
