Had the rokinon 8mm f3.5 lens and it wasnt nearly as sharp as i had hoped, this 8mm f2.8 lens is what id hoped for. Found that at f5.6 to f8 focused between a meter and infinity its sharp close and far.
Manual lens but really easy to use. Great pics, small, light and solid build. 180degree perspective. I use it with Sony a6000.
Very easy to use. Extremely sharp! I would buy this lens again.
Build quality is great, and the image production is pretty good. Set focusing to anywhere from 6" to 2' with an f/stop around 5.6-8 and you can't really miss.
I brought the version II with NX mount. I was not sure between this lens or the Samsung NX 10mm fisheye lens. The NX lens has all the "extras" that would make it great (electronic extras like auto focus and exposition, and the feature button etc).
This lens is very sharp and I have been using the lens on the Canon M5 at ƒ5.6 manually pre-focused. The weather has been pretty bad for most of the time I've had it, so I'm not as practiced with it as I hoped I would be at this point.
When set to minimum aperture F22 and nearest focus distance, this thing will focus equally everywhere-- all around, all the way from infinity to right up to the lens hood. (See attached image, taken with Samsung NX500.
This is one sharp awesome lens!!
A nice lens for the Sony a6500 and fun to use.
A gift to my son and he loved it
