Samsung's NU8000 series of 4K HDR LED TVs offer a premium design, plenty of connected features, and a wide color range, but disappointing contrast.
-
+
Stylish., Lots of smart TV features including Bixby voice assistant., Bright panel.
-
-
Mediocre black levels and contrast ratio., Expensive for the performance., No analog video connections.
Very good TV for mixed usage. Picture quality is good, but image loses accuracy when viewed at an angle. The TV can get bright to counteract glare in a bright room. Motion handling is great for watching sports, gaming or using it as a PC monitor.
-
+
Great motion handling, Low input lag, Great SDR peak brightness
-
-
Colors appear washed out at an angle
Class-leading input lag and superb image processing, but the 49in model's 60Hz panel lags behind the 120Hz panel on larger sets
-
+
Excellent video processing, Accurate colours after calibration, Lowest input lag to date
-
-
Motion performance hampered by 60Hz panel, Sub-par HDR presentation, Limited viewing angles, No UK catch-up TV apps
Samsung’s Quantum-Dot-equipped ‘QLED’ TVs can be amazing – look at the new Samsung Q9FN – but they’re also expensive. For most folk looking to buy a 4K TV, the step-down NU series of LED LCD TVs are more within reach, such as the UE49NU8000, yours for £1199 in the UK.
-
+
Accurate colours, Good sharpness, Very low input lag
-
-
60Hz panel on 49-inch version, Ineffective HDR presentation
I guess I will try and organize this as much as possible. Set-up: Taking the TV out the box and putting the mount together was rather painless minus one screw. The TV is also very light weight so moving furniture around to put this TV up was easier than I expected, especially for its size.
